Buy n Shoot have reviewed the Leica V-Lux 1 - a 10 megapixel digital camera with a Leica 12x optical zoom lens with image stabilisation, a 2″ swivel screen. It’s based on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 but with Leica improvements. The camera is available for £548
“Let’s cut straight to the chase with the Leica V-Lux 1: the quality of the workmanship and the
sophisticated design of the camera are unquestionable. So too are the speed of the lens and its considerable 35-420mm focal range. But, at the end of the day, this unit isn’t without its faults: it’s quite expensive for a digital compact especially considering its equivalent competition and the over-use of noise reduction software in-camera softens images creating a somewhat ‘painted’ effect.”
