Digital Camera Review have reviewed the new Olympus Mju Stylus 790SW - an update to the 770SW - the 7 megapixel digital camera is Shockproof to 1.5m, Waterproof to 3m, and freezeproof - it features a 3x optical zoom lens, 2.5″ screen, 23 scene modes, VGA video, 7cm macro, ISO upto 1600, BrightCapture and Shadow Adjustment Technology, Face detection focus, and TruePic III image processor. It’s available in four colours Orange, Silver, Black and Blue for £162:
“Like the first Stylus, the 790 SW is capable of capturing very good snapshots and memory photos with little effort on the part of the photographer. If that’s not enough, the diminutive 790SW is built like a tank and can be taken along on active outdoor adventures (like back country hiking, rock climbing, off-road biking, snorkeling, skiing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, hang gliding, and white water rafting) that would oblige most users to leave the digital camera at home.”

Photography BLOG have reviewed the new Nikon Coolpix P5100, a 12 megapixel digital camera, with a 3.5x optical zoom lens, optical image stabilisation, 2.5″ screen, ISO3200 and face-priority focus. The Nikon Coolpix P5100 is available for £215
“Smaller than you’d guess from the product images, my initial impressions of the P5100 were of excitement and fun, and using it is a real joy for anyone wanting at least some – although inevitably not all – of the control offered by a consumer DSLR in a more manageable, portable form. While it is small, the controls feel evenly spaced and of sufficient size for accessibility and ease of operation. “
